On behalf of all of us at Whitehawk Community Food Project, I’m sending you our warmest wishes for a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Over the last year, the WCFP has often felt like a safe harbour in the storm, whilst the pandemic has raged outside.
I’m sure that many of us will breathe a sigh of relief that 2020 is almost over. It has been a challenging time for many, particularly those who have experienced loss and personal hardship.
Despite its challenges, I hope we will also reflect on the year as a time where we experienced a new sense of community, strength in the face of adversity and a much greater appreciation of our nature surroundings.
One of the things I love most about gardening is its ability to cut through social divisions. Tapping into the universal desire to nurture, releasing our instinctive fascination with the natural world, gardening has the unique ability to transcend gender, class, race, sexuality and political persuasions.
“To plant a garden is to believe in tomorrow.”
Thank you for being a part of the WCFP family this year and we look forward to happier times in 2021.
With very best wishes for the festive season,
Hallam and family.
